Purpose of STS

STS is a tax-exempt, tax deductible foundation whose sole purpose is to provide scholarships to financially needy gifted and talented OHIO students in grades 3-11. Scholarships are made available for students who would benefit from enrichment activities not normally provided in schools. STS does not discriminate on the basis of gender, religious preference, race, or country of national origin.

Criteria for Acceptable Programs

Some examples of activities that have been previously funded are math/computer courses, art and music instructional programs, science and engineering camps, and special ACADEMIC summer programs. We do not consider sports camps, military school programs, or any programs outside the continental United States.

Student Eligibility

Eligibility for STS scholarships is limited to children whose parents cannot afford these activities and who meet the following criteria:
  • Students who are identified as gifted according to the rule of the state of Ohio, or . . .
  • Children who have demonstrated excellence in the performing or visual arts.
Students must be referred and sponsored by a public or private school gifted coordinator, school psychologist, guidance counselor, or other qualified administrator who can attest to their talents. Delaware County Music Scholarship applicants may be recommended by a music teacher.
