SchoolMatch is a national database and research service that collects information about public and private elementary and secondary schools.

The Westerville, Ohio, company began in 1986 as a clearinghouse for data on schools to help corporations and individuals with relocating decisions.

Since then, the company has expanded to conduct audits of educational effectiveness. It compares districts that are demographically similar, taking into account student test scores, dropout rates, grade-point averages and student and teacher performance, as well as school visits.

About 600 corporations contract with SchoolMatch, which has a database of more than 15,000 school districts and has conducted audits for more than 1,000 school districts.

In FLorida, the Duval, Marion, Osceola, and Sarasota county school districts have undergone audits. See these and other reports here.
