School System Supplementary Information Service

High expectations for all students is the nucleus from which the entire system evolves. We are never satisified with the status quo. We offer a comprehensive program based on high standards. At the elementary level, our focus is on the basics: reading (a balanced program with phonics), writing, grammar, spelling, and mathematics. At the secondary level, we focus on a core liberal arts curriculum of science, mathematics, technology, communications, and fine arts, with an instructional emphasis on critical thinking, problem solving, and application.

Teachers are nurturing and accountable, and they make sure that students are accountable as well. Teaching strategies are used to promote effective, efficient instruction and practice. Teachers focus on academic learning time and make a concerted effort to reduce time that is non-instructional. The majority of class time is devoted to direct teaching, guided practice, and application of instruction to the real world. Administrators and teachers are selected based on stringent criteria. High performance is required to stay in the system.
